Ryjosp Last night and got their steak w/shrimp parmesan and subbed the broccoli and potatoes for a double order of fire grilled vegs in seasoned butter sauce. OMG! So decadent and delicious. I love Keto.
- AmNotLost Last time I went I think I got the pork chops and broccoli. I asked for extra butter at the table. It worked perfectly. I love eating out keto.
- Ryjosp It really is easy. All you have to do is ask them not to give you the carby pasta/rice/potato side dish and double the veg portion and you have the perfect Keto meal. I find most restaurants have no problem doing this.
BTW, the steak I had last night was 8 oz. I could only eat half of it. My appetite has really shrunk. I also only ate half the veg. So I took the rest home with me and I'll have a delicious lunch today as well. Keto saves money too \o/- PerfectShambles88 Last time I was there I do the 2 for 25 with my friend and I got the chicken and shrimp.
- AlphaRocker Applebee's is great for keto. I usually get the grilled salmon and double order of broccoli or one side of broccoli and a side salad. Sometimes I'll even do the bone-in wings. Always makes for a good meal and plenty left over for another meal.

furrydee79 So today was the first day of my second week on keto, with a family trip to Applebee's I was a tad nervous at going over my net carbs.
But after choosing lemon water, oil and vinegar salad, followed by a ribeye steak with steamed broccoli I kept my daily net carbs under 20 carbs....
This is a first for me to not f@ck up, I know it's early but perhaps keto living won't end up like all the others I've tried the past year or two.
My post was just about me feeling proud!

deleted Going to Applebees and keep seeing on a bunch of sites (and on Applebees nutrition page) that the double-glazed ribs have 1 carb per half-rack?
What are they double-glazed in? Mustard?
Has anyone eaten these? Can anyone confirm whether these nutrition facts are accurate?
- ReverseLazarus Avoid anything with the word “glaze”...just like with glazed donuts, it's always sugar. I am sure as hell not going to trust Applebee's. 😂

Baby Back Ribs: Pork Ribs, Brown Sugar, Salt, Paprika, Spice, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Maltodextrin, Chipotle Pepper, Canola Oil (As A Processing Aid), Natural Smoke Flavor, Not More Than 2% Silicon Dioxide Added To Prevent Caking
So - Brown Sugar, four spice powders. Can't possibly be 2g carbohydrate. The 68g of carbs is a much more realistic number.
Also, maltodextrin, canola oil and a mere 2% silicon dioxide.

- LibertyMike Their menu is on the website, along with links to the nutrition information. If we ever go there, we'll have the ribeye with mushrooms & onions, and a double portion of broccoli. It is excellent!

Anyway, these ribs are all over “keto things to eat at Applebees” lists all over the place. Glad I checked!- I have to go to Applebees for lunch. Any suggestions?

MrBunglesBest I have a meeting at Applebees today so I was trying to google lo carb menu choices. Much of the information seems out of date and Applebees is definitely not on the lo carb bandwagon-- they are Weight Watchers friendly which means lo fat/ high sugar choices. It is hard to get nutritional information on things like salad dressing, sauces, marinades, etc.
It looks like my options are Sirloin with vegetable side, hamburger without the bun, grilled shrimp, or (if they still offer them) bone-in wings.
Does anyone have any other information or suggestions?
- callmejay Here's the nutritional info. https://www.applebees.com/en/nutrition/info I'd probably just get a steak and veggies. Don't expect it to taste exceptionally good, but as long as you don't get BBQ or whatever it should be fine for keto.
- MrBunglesBest Fantastic. So I can see that their classic-style hot buffalo wings are 6 net carbs and the ranch dipping sauce is 1.
The shrimp and sirloin with Parmesan is 5. It says seasonal vegetables are 7 to 10 carbs with 2-3g fiber.
Small Caesar salad with dressing is 9 net carbs-- but I'm sure that includes croutons.
Their chili only has 5 net carbs.
On the other hand, the pecan encrusted chicken salad has 114 net carbs-- that's more than most of the pasta entrees! I wonder what they put in it to make it so high? Also the Lipton Raspberry Ice tea (something I definitely would have chosen pre-keto) has nearly as many carbs as a regular coke.
Thank you so much for this-- it will definitely make it easier. I'll probably go with the classic wings and a small caesar salad without the croutons. The steak and shrimp look good but I would be willing to be it is not as good as the steak I make at home.- deleted I work there!!

Avoid all the salads at all costs except the house. House salad has cheese and bacon.
Any of our steaks are amazing. Sub out potatoes.- quarterfast Caesar salads are also an option if you skip the croutons.
A lot of the chicken dishes are probably reasonable, actually, but the carb counts include the rice/pasta/fries that are typically served with it. You can ask most places (including Applebee's) to substitute seasonal vegetables for the starchy part of the meal at no additional cost.- Nanzi I usually get the half Reuben sandwich, no bread, and the small Spinach salad with grilled shrimp, DRESSING ON THE SIDE, it is sweet and they load it on the salad. It does not throw me out of ketosis.
- MrBunglesBest I did get the grilled shrimp spinach salad and I enjoyed it. I ate it with blue cheese dressing instead. I would have much rather get half a Reuben sandwich than the hot wings, however. The wings were pretty bad.

Took a while to order - that's all right, maybe they were Shorthanded, so the bartender came over and took my order and wrote nothing down - real cool of her total expert. But then the food didn't arrive until over 45 minutes after ordering - that tall table surface booth became very uncomfortable - whatever. Then ended up with a different burger than ordered - ok no big deal.
