econguyinKC According to Cheesecake Factory's own literature, a slice of their low carb cheesecake has approx. 11 net carbs (thanks to the sugar alcohols.) I know sugar alcohols affect different folks differently.
For the folks who've tried this, what's been your experience? No real problems? Throw you out of ketosis? Just wondering, cause my birthday is coming up and I'm looking for a treat! :-)
- deleted I ate it, didn't stall me and was delicious. The key is recognizing it is a treat. You can make your own with fewer carbs, but then you have a whole pie to contend with vs. just one slice so...
- sassytaters I haven't had it, but just wanted to clear something up. All you can really do is go by the nutrition info they've provided. What I'm finding says 11 net carbs (though on the actual chart, the Total Carbs are 37 and the fiber isn't listed). Sugar alcohols like erythritol and xylitol can generally be subtracted from total carbs, but that cheesecake appears to be made with Splenda. Splenda is not a sugar alcohol. It's an artificial sweetener, and the granulated form does have carbs (24 per cup). So, I would guess that the 11g net carbs they're listing are coming from the nut crust and the Splenda and the few stray carbs from the cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, whatever they make their filling with. So as long as you count it as 11g of carbs and eat sensibly the rest of the day, I don't think you'll have any problems.
- unique_username_47 I've had it two times. Each time I was really watching the carbs for the other meals that day. MFP says the cheesecake has 49 total carbs! I actually skipped dinner and just had the cheesecake, and I felt fine both then and the next day. Wouldn't recommend doing it too often, but for your birthday, you should do it with a clean conscience! (But just one piece).

- WhySheHateMe Im pretty sure they use Splenda baking mix in their low carb cheesecake...so it's not very keto friendly I would think

kyleneum13 Visiting Texas and going out to dinner with a friend tonight. Of all places she picks Cheesecake Factory ... I was hoping for some good old Texas BBQ but I digress.
I'm super content getting the salmon and steamed veggies for dinner but then saw they have a low carb cheesecake with 11 net carbs (high calories but I'm semi lazy ketoing today due to start of shark week). Honestly at this point a dessert has to be pretty tasty for me to allow the extra carbs and calories so wondering if anyone has had it and whether it's worth getting?
- Zsofia_Valentine I haven't tried it, but... in your situation I might get a slice to go and eat it a few bites at a time over a few days. I bet it is super rich and that is a lot of carbs and calories to spend on dessert in one sitting.
- susaneec I've had it and it was nice. I had planned around it and didn't go over my carbs. I agree with what the other poster has suggested. Get it and divy it up over the next few days. Especially for shark week, it might be a pleasant treat.
