- Chick-fil-A KPT (Keto-Pro-Tip): For a cheap and easy breakfast, order off the menu.

SBrady82 I wish I knew this months ago! I typically hit the drive-through and ask for three sides of folded eggs with three slices of cheese and two sides of sausage on a plate. It costs me less than $5 and they even have Texas Pete for you hot sauce peeps. You can also order scrambled eggs if you don't mind waiting a couple minutes for it to be made. Sometimes I do since they seem to be inconsistent with the size of the scrambled order and sometimes I end up with 5-6 eggs worth of keto goodness :)
- captain-sara-lance You can also use their app to order (even through the drive through for pick up) and customize your order and see nutrition. Tip the app has an option for their hashbrown scramble bowl minus the hash browns and with grilled chicken. Like 2 carbs I think... It comes with jalapeno salsa I too and even leaving that pack there the carbs only go up by 2. I just just put a few drops of it on for flavor.
- not_thebest I'll have to try this. I usually just get a grilled chicken scramble bowl without the hash browns.
- hasenfus You can order the Cobb salad with grilled nuggets (hot) or the grilled marinated breast (cold). Just ask them to leave off the corn, carrots, and tomato. The cheese, bacon, and egg add lots of fat and protein. The avocado ranch dressing is amazing - low carb, high fat.
- Chick-Fil-A Original Chicken Sandwich w/ no bun...
UltimateDabQueen I know that the grilled chicken at Chick-Fil-A is recommended by some people on keto, but what about the classic sandwich? I looked it up on My Fitness Pal, and according to the app, the original chicken sandwich only has 11g of carbs. That's under 20, so would getting those be that bad since it's not over 20g of carbs?
- Default87 think about the total mass of food you eat in a day. now think that over half of your entire net carbs are going to come from that tiny chicken patty, meaning you need to skimp on the rest of that to make it work.
IIFYM its fine, but I operate on food efficiency, and that food is very inefficient when it comes to carbs to calories (plus, the grilled option is available for the same price).- deleted If it fits into your macros, go for it! The original filet sans bun is delicious.
- Revjym Personally I wouldn't blow over half my days carbs on one piece of chicken. The reason Chick Fil A and other restaurants chicken is so trendy and juicy and tasty is because they marinate or brine their meat before cooking. Usually a brine or marinade is half sugar and half salt, which would be hidden carbs. Never take Labeled nutrition facts, esp on Myfitnesspal as gospel. Usually if it tastes amazing and you can't replicate it at home, there's some hidden sugar in there somewhere.

XLP8795 Get the egg white grill. $4.09.
The egg white grill is a piece of grilled chicken, a slice of American cheese, and egg whites. Obviously ask them for no muffin. That takes off $1.35. I swapped American cheese for pepper jack. You can add extra eggs for $0.60 each. I took mine home and wrapped it up in lettuce and added a packet of their ranch.
Came out under $4. Couldn't be happier with a fast food breakfast.
- ohiogirlgoneandback they actually take money off for removing the muffin?! That's awesome! Listen up and pay attention, McDonalds!
- ash753 Instead of ordering it 'hold the muffin', try ordering just the parts you want. Sonic and whataburger let you order sides of eggs, bacon, and sausage. They serve it in a paper bowl.
- mightymoby2010 I order the breakfast bowl, no hash browns, extra egg, grilled chicken. Their jalapeno salsa is killer.
- Iamaface21 Change the egg whites to full egg! More nutrition and negligible calorie increase!
- XLP8795 Yeah I added 2 extra regular eggs along with the egg whites. 3 total.

- Smilingaudibly Grilled nuggets are great. I regularly get those for lunch at work. One packet of garlic ranch and a 12 piece nuggets is 350 calories and 4 net carbs. I could easily eat 2 of those ranch packets, but that would add another 3 carbs.
- deleted Regular sandwich without bun is 10 net I think
- oldhatch grilled nuggets ranch and diet coke.
i sometimes eat all my carbs for lunch by getting 2 number 1's no bread or pickles..10gs of carbs each.- vestejaune Grilled nuggets, side salad (doesn't come w/croutons), garlic ranch dressing/dipping sauce
- PawaAwa Grilled chicken sammich w/ no bun or grilled chicken nuggets. Skip the sauces and use either mayo or butter as a dipping sauce.
PurewowThe good news?
Chicken is totally keto-friendly. The not-so-good news is that it's the other stuff at this fast food spot (like breading, buns and French fries) that's less likely to fit into your diet. No worries, friend. We've scoped out the menu ahead of time to make eating keto at Chick-Fil-A a delight. What does Chick-Fil-A have that's keto friendly?
Lucky for you, many items on Chick-Fil-A's menu are keto friendly as-is or can be easily modified to fit the bill. It's usually a matter of ditching the bun and ordering grilled chicken instead of breaded (but more on that below). The zesty buffalo sauce and garden herb ranch sauce contain little to no carbs and are a good way to add extra fat to your meal. Can I eat Chick-Fil-A nuggets on keto?
You sure can. Chick-Fil-A offers both regular (aka breaded) and grilled nuggets, and the latter are super low in carbohydrates. An eight-piece order of grilled nuggets contains just one gram of carbs, three grams of fat, 25 grams of protein and 130 calories. For comparison, the same size order of regular nuggets contains 11 grams of carbs.Does Chick-Fil-A offer lettuce wraps?
Well, not really. While Chick-Fil-A does offer something called a Chick-Fil-A Cool Wrap (it's basically a grilled chicken wrap with lettuce and shredded cheese), it's not available sans flatbread wrap. But you could order it and remove the wrap yourself to make your own lettuce wrap of sorts. The top 10 keto-friendly dishes to try:

Mr Skinny PantsThe most difficult thing about Chick-Fil-A is not getting fooled by their "we-sound-healthy-but-are-actually-high-carb" options. There are many of them.Overall Ratings for Chick-Fil-A
I rate Chick-Fil-A as low carb friendly because you can order their nuggets, bunless fried chicken sandwiches, chicken salads, and bunless breakfast sandwiches without cheating your low carb diet.
- Low carb friendly – Yes.
- Low carb entrees on menu – Yes. They have fried chicken nuggets (~1 net carb per nugget), grilled chicken nuggets (0 net carbs per nugget), and three different grilled chicken salad varieties that qualify. You can also special order bunless chicken sandwiches and bunless breakfast sandwiches.
- Satiety of low carb entrees – Average. For my first meal at Chick-Fil-A I had a smorgasboard of grilled nuggets, fried nuggets, and a garden salad. I felt pretty full, but still found room for additional snacks. For my second meal, I had two bunless chicken sandwiches and similarly felt full, but soon after found myself snacking. Their bunless breakfast sandwiches are filling, but they seemed to give me extra food on accident and my appetite is smaller in the morning.
- Taste of low carb entrees – Above Average. Long story, short: everything fried was amazing, anything grilled was just good.
- Price / value of low carb entrees – Average.
- Ordering experience – Average. Everyone at Chick-Fil-A was friendly & astute, and the orders came back accurate, but drive-thru wait times are extra long because the restaurants are so popular. The drive-thru attendant also had some problems processing my bunless breakfast sandwich order. Ordering in restaurant was a good experience as I got manager-level service each time.
Chick-Fil-A is a relatively hospitable place for low carb eaters, especially if you can eat your meal right away while it's piping hot. You just have to avoid a few trap foods that sound low carb but actually aren't.
