- California Pizza Kitchen restaurant introduces a cauliflower crust option.
So they introduced a cauliflower crust option, but the nutritional information still show the cauliflower crust being a total of 85g of carbs. Can someone confirm that I am reading this right and it is in fact NOT keto friendly? A real bummer if true
- deleted It's not keto friendly. It's not aimed at keto but lower carb, gluten free, Paleoish eaters.
- dickie99 I think most cauliflower crust pizzas are directed more at the gluten free crowd.
- Sarcassimo Not keto. Bummer. It is aimed at the gluten free folks. Keto will make its way into commercial pizza. It is a no brainer.
- fharmelink Just because a product is "made with cauliflower" or "sugar free" or "no sugar added" doesn't automatically make it low carb or keto friendly. Sometimes, the reason they go with cauliflower in a product like this is so it can be gluten free. Which may mean nothing as far as low carb is concerned.

So I found out today that CPK is offering a Cauliflower Crust on any of their pizzas. I'm so excited because they make my favorite pizza, A blt pizza with avocado slices on top.
- treesgrater Just a heads up this is per slice for their cauli
This is 13 net carbs for literally just the crust no sauce or toppings included

- Anything keto-friendly on the CPK Menu?
- matt2377 Ribeye Salmon Halibut Buffalo Cauliflower Asparagus & Arugula Salad
- eunicorns Don't get the cauliflower pizza! I just had it. It's delicious but 14g per slice! There's 6slices in one pizza.
- roho42 Robert Hollinger I got an email today from California Pizza Kitchen that was hyping their new limited time cauliflower crust. I would have to think that the primary motivation for this crust is a response to the low carb keto/paleo/etc movements. They already have gluten free options.
So, before I ordered I decided I should ask what is in it. Ok, Cauliflower, Cheese (I think Mozzarella but I didn't really pay attention), Egg White...RICE FREAKING FLOUR and TAPIOCA STARCH! Are you kidding me? really?
what a disappointment.
I realize it could be trace amounts and the carb load may be primarily the cauliflower but I doubt they will publish a breakdown of starch/flour vs vegetable. Granted they still haven't published the overall nutrition info either.
Anyway, be warned.
- fire4effect Alfred Balagtas ugh...I didn't check...I was coming off a 24hr fast...keto test was a dark purple...after eating pizza for dinner...test only showed trace the next morning...previous weeks daily tests were all purple...tasted good tho =/...probably too good based on cauliflower bread i've made.
- Tho Nate 14g total carbs per slice, 1g fiber. 13g net carbs vs 25 for regular crust is ... Not as bad, I guess?
- juice Running from stupidity If people are aiming for 20g, then yes, it's hopeless.
