The Old School House
Built outside of Beloit, Kansas, this historic, 1879 schoolhouse was constructed by a settlement of Iowa farmers. Walter Knott bought the old, one-room school and its contents in 1952, moved it to Ghost Town, and added a belfry for looks.

In recognition of the value to our nation of the education provided by the one room school-house, this plaque is placed on an original one built in 1879, near beloit, Kansas.
