The Historic Jeffries Barn
The Historic Jeffries Barn, Knott's Berry Farm - Early 1956 and today. Once considered one of the greatest boxers of all time, James J. Jeffries was the World Heavyweight Champion from 1899 to 1906. He was the Muhammad Ali of his day; commanding monumentally high ticket prices for his fights. Fourteen wins by knockout and never defeated until Jack Johnson. After his retirement from boxing, Jeffries trained new boxers and held numerous fights from this massive barn on his alfalfa farm in Burbank, California. In 1954, one year after Jeffries death, Walter Knott acquired the famous barn - which had stood on the corner of Victory and Buena Vista - and moved it to Buena Park. Today, it seems that few know the incredible history of this structure.
