Since his first days in Congress, Richard Nixon's particular mix of awkwardness and charisma has fascinated supporters and critics alike.
Cartoonists of all stripes have long used Nixon as a subject for their political commentary, but he was also the focus of numerous television shows, movies, and fine arts forms.
On the small screen, nods to Nixon have appeared in Futurama and The Simpsons, The Colbert Report, Saturday Night Live, and Doctor Who, to name a few. His distinctive visage has also filled the big screen in films from All the President's Men to Point Break and Forrest Gump. Nixon's image, character, and story have also provided the inspiration for plays, such as Russell Lee's Nixon's Nixon and Peter Morgan's Frost/Nixon, and the opera Nixon in China by John Adams.
