When you are are not eating carbs, your body uses fats for energy. Either the fat you eat or the fat you have stored in your body. You would think that adding a pat of butter to your coffee would be counter productive because you would rather have your body burn the fat off your body so you lose weight. However - that one little pat of butter gives you energy for hours. Skip breakfast for the calories in one tablespoon of butter heck yeah. Also it actually tastes fantastic - it's like creamer only thicker. At least as a black coffee drinker it tastes fantastic.
