Our People

Dairy Farmer
The Thomas Mahon family farm is positioned on the West coast of Ireland between Galway Bay and The Burren. Thomas handed the farm down to his son, Eanna as his father handed it down to him. The tradition of small, family-run dairy farming in Ireland is fundamental to the community.

Baker
Cathy McKenna is an up-and-coming baker living in Monaghan. As a lifelong baker, her secret ingredient for the most delicious apple crumble is Kerrygold grass-fed butter. The unmistakable taste of Kerrygold makes her baked goods a must try.

5th Generation Dairy Farmer
Darran McKenna is a fifth generation Kerrygold dairy farmer. In 2018, his farm won the most prestigious award in Irish farming, the NDC & Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards. Darran’s sustainable farming practices ensure his cows have lush, green grass to graze on nearly all year round.

Milk Awards Jusdge
Patrick Wall is a world-renowned expert in food safety and member of the European Food Safety Authority. His experience spans from academia, serving on the 2008 Beijing Olympics committee on food safety controls and judging Ireland’s NDC & Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards for the past thirteen years.

Dairy Farmer
As a Kerrygold farmer and a father, Aiden McCarthy is teaching his children the importance of caring for the land and the animals. He is passionate about growing the highest quality grass to nourish his cows the natural way and hopes to pass down the West Cork farm to his children one day.

Master Cheesegrader
Enda Howley is Kerrygold’s Master Cheese Grader, responsible for selecting only the finest cheeses to carry the Kerrygold name. His work has earned him recognition in his field and allowed him to judge at international cheese competitions including the World Cheese Awards and the World Championship Cheese Contest.

Dairy Farmer
Vanessa O’Connor is a Kerrygold farmer and mother of two. Under her leadership, Vanessa has built a best in class dairy farm, ensuring her herd receives excellent care and the land is well tended to. Her hard work and dedication results in the rich taste of Kerrygold.

Butter Procurement
Gerry Coonan is the retail butter procurement manager for Kerrygold, responsible for shipping Kerrygold Pure Irish Butter around the world. Having worked with Kerrygold for over 40 years, his commitment allows our 14,000 co-op members to focus on producing excellent grass-fed milk while he handles the logistics of sharing it with the rest of the world.

Dairy Farmer
After taking on the family farm at the age of twenty-two, Padraig Keane has worked to ensure the land is well cared for for future generations. Having learned dairy farming from his father, Padraig also incorporates technology to ensure the farm is operating at its’ peak and the animals are healthy.

Chef
Paul Flynn is a top Irish chef and owner of The Tannery in co. Dungarvan. Along with his restaurant, he also runs a cooking school teaching people from all over the world how to cook great food. One "fundamental" in Paul’s cooking is rich and creamy Kerrygold grass-fed butter.
