LA DODGER TALK.COMQuite likely the longest-running blog on the internet, having its start over 20 years ago by Mark Timmons. It is now a collaboration between Mark, Michael Norris (Old Bear), Bulldogs & Penguins, and Evan Bladh.
- Mark Timmons
Mark Timmons grew up near Dayton, Ohio, and became a Dodger fan when at the age of nine, he sent letters to all twenty-four MLB teams, proclaiming that he was their biggest fan and asking that they send him swag. The Dodgers sent him a huge box full of Dodger Memorobelia (including a baseball autographed by the entire World Series winning team of 1963. Sadly, the next year, that ball was needed for some sandlot action. Koufax, Drysdale, Fairly, Podres, Moon, Sherry, et al – I wonder what that would be worth now? About fifteen years ago, Mark was the first blogger to set in the Vin Scully Pressbox at Dodger Stadium.- Michael "Bear" Norris
Michael AKA Old Bear Norris was born in LA on June 14, 1948. He spent most of his youth there but also lived for a time in Minnesota, Iowa, and Nevada. He joined the Army in 1965 and spent time overseas in Korea and Germany. He was a radar tech. Married twice with three children and five grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. He became a baseball fan when he was 7. Music and baseball are his first loves. He sang the National Anthem at Dodger Stadium on September 8, 1981. He also played in country music bands in Southern California and opened for the likes of Ernest Tubb, Dwight Yoakum, TG Sheppard, and Johnny Rodriguez, among others. His favorite player was Duke Snider. After driving trucks for over 30 years, he retired in 2010 and now resides in Canon City, Colorado- Evan Bladh ("Blade")
Born and raised in Southern California, Evan Bladh (aka Blue Evan) became hooked on Dodger baseball as a young child in the 60s and 70s as so many were with Vin Scully and the transistor radio serving as a best friend. A frequent contributor to Dodger blogs and bulletin boards over the years, Evan started writing about the Dodgers after winning an essay contest during "Think Blue" week in 1999, which awarded him the prize of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. He created his own blog and kept it active for seven years with over 800 articles before stepping away due to work assignment responsibilities. After a 34-year Law enforcement career, he retired in July of 2022 and will continue to contribute to LA Dodgertalk.- Bulldogs & Penguins
Bulldogs and Penguins was born in 1967 and moved from El Monte, California, to Orange County when he was just four years old and has lived in Huntington Beach, CA, for 50 years. His family is originally from Detroit, Michigan and his parents were children of Italian immigrants who immigrated to America through Ellis Island on their way to settle in Detroit. They followed the Dodgers to California in the late 50s, and the family has been Dodgers fans ever since falling in love with Vin, Big D, and the left hand of God. His first baseball memories were watching the 1974 team fall to the A’s. He joined his first Little League team the very next Spring and played until his Sophomore year in High School. He identified with the "Penguin" who was his favorite ball player in his early years. The "Bulldog" is his favorite Dodgers pitcher of all time because he delivered that remarkable season that ended with the 1988 Championship.
