Family Heirlooms
This spoon was purchased in Ithaca, NY in 1852 and
Brought to California by Eladist Bowen, it is made of coin silver. Eladist made his fortune in the gold rush, but was killed during the Modoc war. He left his widow $5,000 in gold dust.
The second spoon belonged to Irene Eladsit Bowen. It is in the Chantilly pattern, one of the most popular sterling silver patterns.
Disney Pins
I started my Disney Pin Collection 8 years ago, and I decided to display my "Tinker Bell" pins because it was one of my favorite pin themes.
I think I have more than 1,000 Disney pins; some of them are Limited Edition, vary rare, and some complete sets.
Tinker Bell is one of many characters that are difficult to collect.
Thank you for looking at my collection of Tinker Bell!

Furrybones
This is my furrybones collection. I started my cobecsion in 2010. My favorite one is an unicorn.
A little dead and super cute.
Furrybones were first born in early 2007 at creator Mesaki's desk as a skeleton in animal costumes.
After vigorous pitching and selling (and some begging) it was finally approved for producton and received the official name "Furrybones".
Since their introduction to the market they have been well received and loved all over the worid. There are now over 100 different costumes to collect, with some costumes having more than one varianion.
And the range has expanded to cover not onty the original collectible figurines but also a range of plush toys, mugs, jewelry, water globes, photo frames, magnets, trinket boxes, money boxes, & more.

How to Build a Robot from Scratch
I somehow collected a tank like vessel, and had it kicking around the yard and garage for years. I looked at it as the canvas for a new project - but what? Its shape, size, and specific indentations gave me the idea that is should become a robot of some sort.
I would need a lot of other parts to bring this robot project to life. I had been collecting pieces and parts for years.
Many came from my Dad's stockpile, but many other vital parts just seemed to appear, and I went on collecting from any source, including other people's junk piles. I found items at many hobby stores, junk shops, and cheap stores.
Eventually I started to put my project together, and it took shape layer by layer, piece by piece, as well as trial and error.
As I found unique parts, the ideas rolled along, and they just kept coming. As the ideas developed, everything became more complicated, and required more power and control.
I needed a power system with several transformers to provide different levels of DC voltage, I needed control switches, interface devices, indicator lights, and human input devices.
A project was In the making, and I asked myself, what have I got? Where do I start? What's next?
Shells from Around the World
My parents Dan and Yvonne both grew up in Oregon in the 1930-50s.
They didn't travel much with their childhood families, but both were adventurous.
They married in 1959 and had 3 children by 1961. In 1964, they got jobs in Guam and lived in the South Pacific for the next several years traveling to Palau, Chuuk, Japan, Singapore, and Samoa.
My dad always gathered jars of sand and shell treasures.
In the 70s they moved to Hawaii, where I was born, and continued the tradition of collecting sand and shells throughout the islands.
When I was a teenager, we moved to New Zealand and traveled to Fiji and the Cook Islands.
In his later years, my dad struggled with his health and could not travel so extensively, but would still collect sand and shells from beaches, lakes, and rivers around the United States.
I met my husband Aaron in 2003 and was amused to discover that he, too, had an extensive collection of shells from around the world. I was certainly familiar with and attracted to someone with wanderlust!
We were married in Hawaii and had our only child Eliot together in 2004. In addition to Europe, Aaron had traveled to Thailand, Indonesia, South America, Australia, much of Africa, and the Galapagos Islands.
When our son was about 10, I came home one day to discover that he and his dad had modified a table to house Aaron's shell collection.
My favorite thing about this collection is that the hobby was shared by my father Daniel and my son's father Aaron. In our family, the wanderlust and the love of the ocean and her beautiful offspring persists.
These items are such a gorgeous representation of the delicate and unique shells left behind when loved ones die.
Fire and Emergency Vehicles
The collection in this case is a display of fire and emergency vehicles of the world.
The display includes fire apparatus, ambulances, and other type vehicles used by fire, EMS, and personnel that work as first responders.
This collection began over 20 years a go when I began working in emergency medical services in both Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
These are just a few of the emergency vehicles I have collected through the years
Of all the vehicles I have on display in this case I would say that my favorite is that of a 1981 American LaFrance close cab pumper labeled as "Squad Company Number One" of the New York City Fire Department
(FDNY). This model is in a clear box enclosed case. This apparatus is quartered in the downtown section of Manhattan, New York City. This replica is a model of a thousand gallon per minute pumper which also carried first aid and extraction gear.
This apparatus was taken out of reserve status and put back into service for use during 9/11.
These models represent apparatus and emergency vehicles from the early 1900s to the present time period. From countries including the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, France, Canada, and more.

C) My favorite piece in this collection is the 1957 Convertible Chevy Bel Air. I wish it were big enough for me to drive!

Alien Life Cycle
Alien Life Cycle: Parasite
This form emerges from an Ovomorph and lives from 3-6 standard days, all the while tirelessly seeking a warm blooded host in whom to implant its embryo. It moves quite quickly, in the mode of a terrestrial arthropod. After implantation, the parasite form, colloquially referred to as a Facehugger- due to its powerful attachment to the host's anterior skull during the process of implantation, will withdraw from the host and quietly expire.
Alien Life Cycle: Ovomorph (Egg)
An ovomorrh born of a queen is the first stage of the xenomorph life cycle. A queen guards her ovomorphs, but allows adult forms to remove them one at a time to place them near hosts so implantation can occur. Despite informally being called an Egg, an ovomorph is actually a living, plantlike organism in its own right (ovo = Egg, morph = Shape) unable to move, but capable of absorbing nutrients and assessing its environment to release its parasite.
Alien Life Cycle: Newborn
This is the first phase of xenomorph development outside the host. The newborn emerges, killing its host, a few hours to days following implantation by parasite. This form has only vestigial forelimbs but quickly develops long, powerful, taloned arms and legs. Movement is by rapid, slithering action similar to that of a terrestrial snake.
Alien Life Cycle: Queen
The queen xenomorph is much larger than a typical adult form, wih 3 paired limbs and a broad, distinctive head carapace. A queen mates with selected drones to birth hundreds or possibly thousands, of ovomorphs (Eggs) in her lifetime.
Cocker Spaniel
My collection started 23 years ago with just one ceramic Cocker Spaniel that my mother gave me.
I had an American Cocker Spaniel named Sara, and my mom knew that I loved the breed.
Cocker Spaniels are dogs belonging to two breeds of the spaniel dog type: the American Cocker Spaniel and the English Cocker Spaniel of which are commonly called simply Cocker Spaniel in their countries of origin.
In the early 20th century, Cocker Spaniels also included small hunting spaniels.
The main differences between their looks is the American Cocker Spaniel is that it is longer than it is tall, with a domed skull and a shorter muzzle.
The eyes are rounder and placed forward on the skull. Whereas the English Cocker Spaniel is taller, with a squarer appearance. A longer muzzle with oval eyes set slightly to the side of the head.
I expanded my collection to include dogs of any breed, in any materials. They also kept getting smaller.
Jack Skellington
(Voiced by Danny Elfman) Is the main character in "Nightmare Before Christmas" a 1993 stop motion movie written by Tim Burton and put out by Disney.
It tells the story of Jack the pumpkin king, that lives in Halloween town, who has grown board of Halloween and it's frights and scares. So he looks for another holiday to try and comes upon Christmas Town.
He decides he wants to try out being in charge of Christmas upside down and almost ruins the holiday.
I've been collecting Jack / Nightmare Before Christmas for 30 years. My first item I got was Jack Skellington cup with lid. It's been put away as it has been through a lot. I have my second mug here though as it has done better.
This is my Supernatural Collection
Supernatural was a show on TV that ran from September 13th, 2005 to November 19th, 2020. It's about two brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who follow their father's footsteps, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds including monsters, demons, and gods, that roam the earth.
I've been collecting supernatural items for 10 years now. My first item was a belt.

Waiting for the Train at Lathrop
Where is the San Joaquin Daylight? Is it late? Or did we miss it?
Here is Train 53, the Sacramento Daylight, in all it's glory. The Sacramento Daylight connects the cities of Sacramento and Lathrop with the Sacramento extension of the San Joaquin Daylight.
An accommodating train for customers of the state capitol, it peacefully waits for its big brother.
Today the engine is non-boiler equipped Southern Pacific substituting for the regular steam equipped. Fortunately, it is a warm day an neither heat for air conditioning will be needed.
The traditional Baggage Car, along with the unusual for the SD, Baggage-Coach (in Daylight colors) and Daylight Chair Car await their passengers for the trip to Sacramento.
This is rather late in the Sacramento Daylight era for all passengers must walk across the train platform to board the San Joaquin Daylight. In years pas the Daylight Chair Car would be attached to the end of the train, but that convenience has been cut as a cost cutting venture.
It won't be too many months before even this luxury will be eliminated. Enjoy the Sacramento Daylight while you can.

Breyer HorsesSplatter Dappled Greys
I began collecting Breyer horses back in 1969, and have over 1,000 of them.
Way back in the early years of Breyer, to make the dapples, they sprayed a special glue onto the model, then spray painted a color over that, and when it dried, they would peel off the glue.
What was left is what is referred to as the old style splatter dapples.
The dapples varied in size, depending on who was doing the spraying that day.
Since the company now makes more realistic horses in more realistic colors, the old style dappled greys are prized by collectors, since each horse came out different and no two are alike!!!
My favorite in this group is the Belgian in the upper left corner!!!

My favorite is the Firebird Face Art mask.
PigsThe spice of Life
After collecting pigs for almost sixty years, I can take my own daily forays into the spice of life through the selection of pig salt and pepper shakers that grace my china cabinet and kitchen table.
The oldest pair (boar and a Pig on a Hog with Sidecar) was a gift from my husband's best man at our wedding in 1955. The newest set (Blue and Yellow Pig Driver in British Racing Cap) came as a surprise from a teaching colleague just last month.
How could I ever choose a favorite? If I must, I am torn between Porky and Petunia out for a romantic spin in their convertible and the woeful piggy standing on a scale to remind us of the many ways the Ventura County Fair remains with us long after it gates close each year!
Dragon: - A mythical monster like a giant reptile in European Tradition
The dragon is typically fire breathing and tends to symbolize chaos or evil, whereas in East Asia it is usually a benefit symbol of fertility associated with water and the heavens.
Dragons in western cultures since high middle ages were often described as winged, horned, four-legged and capable of breathing fire.
Dragons in eastern cultures were usually wingless four-legged serpentine creatures with above average intelligence.
Draconic creatures appear in virtually all cultures around the globe.
Fantasy Dragon Collections
I started collecting dragons about 20 years ago. My first dragon was actually a tiered mountain that had many dragons on it.
(It's not being shown because it has suffered a few injuries over the years.)
My father got me this because he knew I was collecting unicorns and figured dragons went with unicorns. And so began my collection of dragons. A lot of my dragons are resin and from China.
What's a nice Jewish girl doing with Christmas Ornaments?
In 1991, my sister married a wonderful man who wasn't Jewish. To show my support, I bought the Waterford tree topper for them. Each year, I gave them another ornament.
After a few years, they stopped celebrating Christmas. In 2011, I married a terrific guy who also wasn't Jewish.
My sister gifted me back all the ornaments!
Since then, I've bought other ornaments, mostly used.
My favorite ornament is in my husband's case to the left: it's the Swarovski Star Wars Death Star in the center.
As you can see, our ornaments are very different, but they look fantastic together on our tree!
The Other Side of Christmas
Each year when my wife and I decorate the Christmas tree we reaffirm how the season means so many things to so many people.
We find ourselves in the never-ending struggle between what I refer to as the battle between The Tasteful and The Tacky.
Her ornaments (as exhibited in the case immediately to the right) represent the sublime and mine the profane. Hers are curated with care, and mine are a hodgepodge of ornaments I have been collecting since the 1960s.
The Jack-in-the-box ornaments here are among the first I ever acquired. The concept of fast food mixing in with the holidays warmed my young psyche. Each year I would seek out what struck me in pop-culture and resonated with me the joy of the year and the love of the season.
In this case I have a cross-section of elements of my collection with the most recognizable consisting of bits of film and media.
Star Trek, old and new generations, Star Wars, Batman, The Simpsons, Peanuts, Pinky and the Brain, The Big Bang Theory, and two tree toppers that alternate for the big spotlight, Stipe from my favorite Christmans film, Gremlins, and Jack Skellington from the Nightmare Before Christmas.
My Favorite ornament in the collection is the one that seems to strike a balance between my wife and I - The Swarovski Death Star. At first glance it would be right at home with her collection, on closer inspection you realize, "That's no tasteful ornament".
