The Rock Cycle
  1. Magma: The molten or semi-molten natural material from which all igneous rocks are formed. Magma is found beneath the surface of the Earth.
  2. Lava: When magma flows onto Earth's surface, it is called lava.
  3. Igneous Rock: Formed through the cooling ol lava.
  4. Sediment: A naturally occurring material that is broken down by processes of weathering and erosion, and is transported by the action of wind, water, or glaciers.
  5. Sedimentary Rock: Sedimentary rocks are types of rock formed by depositing mineral or organic particles on the Earth's surface. This process could potentially last millions of years!
  6. Metamorphic Rock: This rock is formed from mperatures greater than 150 to 200 °C and elevated pressure.
